Product Overview
SoCo Brut IPA - Partial Mash
A very dry IPA with loads of citrus, peach, passionfruit, and white wine flavors and aromas due to the Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin hops added after the boil and during dry hopping. This recipe calls for an optional addition of Glucoamylase powder (not included) in this kit which should allow you to bring the FG down below 1.011 and really dry out this beer. We don't automatically include the Glucoamylase enzyme powder in this kit since one bag can be used for multiple Brut IPA recipes.
Characteristics:
- ABV: 6.3%
- SRM: 3.9
- IBU: 40
- OG: 1.059
- FG: 1.010 (Or Lower)
This recipe kit DOES NOT include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags. However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page. Using glucoamylase enzyme powder (not included in this kit) will help reduce the final gravity to below 1.011. If you don't use glucoamylase enzyme powder, then expect your final gravity to be around 1.014.
Whirlpool/Steeping Hops: This recipe calls for whirlpool/steeping hops which are added after the boil. For simplicity, our IBU (Bitterness) calculations are based on steeping/whirlpooling hops at 180°F for 15 minutes. Whirlpooling at different temperatures and for different lengths of time will impact flavor and aroma differently. For more information about steeping/whirlpool hops, please refer to the American Homebrewers Association's article on The Effect of Post-Boil/Whirlpool Hop Additions on Bitterness in Beer.
Priming Sugar: For priming sugar, we recommend the following:
Grain Bags: If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:
Hop Straining Bags: If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:

* We strongly recommend adding an ice pack when ordering liquid yeast. Transit times can vary and liquid yeast works best when it remains cold until the day you brew.
