SoCo Whiskey Barrel Stout - Partial Mash
A 6.4% American style stout with strong whiskey flavors that come from the addition of whiskey barrel chips during secondary fermentation. This stout also has chocolate, roast, and caramel malt flavors. Nugget and Willamette hops provide a bitterness level that complements the strong malt and barrel chip flavors.

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags. However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page. These yeasts may have different levels of attenuation which may result in slight variations in the final gravity. Â
Oak Chip Instructions: we recommend sanitizing the oak chips prior to adding these chips to the secondary fermenter. Use 2 ounces for lighter whiskey barrel flavors or 4 ounces for heavier whiskey oak flavors. Simply boil the barrel chips in 1 cup of water for 5 minutes and then add the chips to the fermenter during secondary fermentation. You can leave the chips in secondary fermenter for up to 3 - 4 weeks to extract desired flavors. Â
