Product Overview
Imperial Bourbon Barrel Chocolate Stout - Partial Mash
A bold 9.2% Imperial Stout loaded with bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, and roasted flavors and aromas. Roasted Barley, Chocolate Malt, and Crystal 120L Malt provide strong roasty chocolate and light caramel malt flavors while a pound of flaked oats provides subtle oat flavors and enhanced body. Cacao nibs are added towards the end of the boil to substantially increase the dark chocolate flavors. Bourbon barrel chips are added during fermentation to provide strong bourbon and vanilla flavors. Â
Make this an imperial breakfast stout by adding coffee flavoring (optional selection above) before bottling or by adding coldbrew coffee (not included in this kit) during secondary fermentation. For coldbrew coffee, we recommend adding 8 to 12 ounces coldbrew coffee. We like using a medium roast for a smoother flavor. However, you can use whatever type of coffee and roast that you prefer to make your own unique brew.

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags. However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page. This recipe was designed using White Labs WLP001 California Ale yeast. Using an alternative yeast may result in slight variations in attenuation and final gravity.
Yeast Pitch Rate:Â We highly recommend preparing a yeast starter or using 2 packets of yeast for this recipe due to the high original gravity (OG) in order to keep the yeast happy and healthy.
Priming Sugar:Â For priming sugar, we recommend the following:
Grain Bags:Â If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:
Hop Straining Bags:Â If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:

* We strongly recommend adding an ice pack when ordering liquid yeast. Transit times can vary and liquid yeast works best when it remains cold until the day you brew.
