SoCo Texas Strong Ale - All Grain

An 8.6% ABV American style Strong Ale that features Wildfire Pale Malt from TexMalt in Fort Worth, Texas.  Amarillo hops and Centennial hops provide strong citrus, pine, and grapefruit flavors.  Crystal malts and pale chocolate malt give this ale a deep amber hue.  For this Texas Strong Ale, we recommend using Cali Girl yeast from San Antonio's Community Cultures Yeast Lab.

• 1.015 FG

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags.  However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page. These yeasts may have different levels of attenuation which may result in slight variations in the final gravity.  

Priming Sugar:  For priming sugar, we recommend the following:

• 5 oz Priming Sugar
• Carbonation Drops

Grain Bags:  If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:

• Brew In A Bag Nylon Straining Bag
• Brew In A Bag Straining Bag With Handles

Hop Straining Bags:  If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:

• Small Muslin Hop Boiling Bag
• Fine Mesh Nylon Hop Bag With Drawstring

We highly recommend using 2 packets of yeast or preparing a starter for this recipe due to the high alcohol content so that the yeast remains happy and healthy.
