Product Overview

SoCo Sabro™ IPA - All Grain

A 6.5% ABV IPA packed with Sabro™ hops which contribute tangerine, coconut, tropical fruit, and stone fruit flavors and aromas, with hints of cedar, mint, and cream.  This beer is deep gold in color and the Vienna and Aromatic malts provide light toasty and sweet malty flavors.

Characteristics:

  • 6.5% ABV
  • 51.1 IBU
  • 6.3 SRM
  • 1.063 OG
  • 1.014 FG

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags.  However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page. These yeasts may have different levels of attenuation which may result in slight variations in the final gravity.  

Whirlpool/Steeping Hops:  This recipe calls for whirlpool/steeping hops which are added after the boil.  For simplicity, our IBU (Bitterness) calculations are based on steeping/whirlpooling hops at 194°F for 15-20 minutes.  Whirlpooling at different temperatures and for different lengths of time will impact flavor and aroma differently.  For more information about steeping/whirlpool hops, please refer to the American Homebrewers Association's article on The Effect of Post-Boil/Whirlpool Hop Additions on Bitterness in Beer.

Kveik Yeast Option:  If you are feeling adventurous, consider using a Kveik yeast strain for your New England style hazy/juicy IPA.  Most of these yeasts provide plenty of fruity flavors and can handle temperatures above 90°F!  If you ferment these yeasts at higher temperatures, some of these strains will be done fermenting within 3-4 days.  Our Kveik yeast strains can be found here:  Kveik Yeast Strains
