SoCo 80 Shilling Scottish Export Ale - Partial Mash

A 5.0% ABV malt forward beer with caramel and light chocolate flavors.  This Scottish ale is higher in ABV and body than the 60 Shilling and 70 Shilling Scottish Ales. East Kent Golding hops provide a low hop bitterness.  Scottish ales are sometimes referred to in shillings which references how much a barrel of beer cost during the mid and late 1800's. The lower the shilling means lower ABV.

• ABV:  5.0%
• OG:  1.051
• FG:  1.013
• IBU:  24.8
• SRM:  18.6

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags.  However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page.  These yeasts may have different levels of attenuation which may result in slight variations in the final gravity.

Priming Sugar:  For priming sugar, we recommend the following:

• 5 oz Priming Sugar
• Carbonation Drops

Grain Bags:  If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:

• Large Muslin Bag (Single Use)

Hop Straining Bags:  If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:
