Product Overview
IPA IPA Double IPA - All Grain
An intense double IPA with 8.1% ABV and 79.6 IBUs. This IPA is packed full of west coast style CTZ, Simcoe, Centennial, Citra, Amarillo® hops which give this beer flavors and aromas that include peach, apricot, passion fruit, lemon, lime, grapefruit, and pine. This beer is a true bitter juice bomb.
Hop Sensory Profile:
- Simcoe: Look for a pine-like aroma with overtones of lime, grapefruit, tropical fruit, stone fruit, and slight earthiness
- CTZ: Powerful and striking, displaying oily fresh citrus and wild herbal character; dry hopping can bring out pine and spice.
- Centennial: Predominantly citrus but with undertones like lemongrass and pine needles often evident. The citrus character can be reminiscent of Cascade ( grapefruit), the variety it’s most often compared to.
- Citra: Strongly tropical and lush with a host of fruit flavors including peach, passionfruit, guava, lychee, grapefruit, lime and gooseberry.
- Amarillo: Amarillo is a popular American aroma hop known for its vibrant orange-citrus character and floral bouquet. It delivers sweet orange, grapefruit, and tropical fruit notes with subtle herbal and spicy undertones

This recipe kit DOES NOT include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags. However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page. This recipe was designed using Safale US-05 dry yeast. Using an alternative yeast may result in slight variations in attenuation and final gravity.
Yeast Pitch Rate: We highly recommend preparing a yeast starter or using 2 packets of yeast for this recipe due to the high original gravity (OG) in order to keep the yeast happy and healthy.
Whirlpool/Steeping Hops: This recipe calls for whirlpool/steeping hops which are added after the boil. For simplicity, our IBU (Bitterness) calculations are based on whirlpooling hops at 170°F for 15 minutes. Whirlpooling at different temperatures and for different lengths of time will impact flavor and aroma differently. For more information about steeping/whirlpool hops, please refer to the American Homebrewers Association's article on The Effect of Post-Boil/Whirlpool Hop Additions on Bitterness in Beer.
Priming Sugar: For priming sugar, we recommend the following:
Grain & Hop Bags: If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:
Hop Straining Bags: If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:

* We strongly recommend adding an ice pack when ordering liquid yeast. Transit times can vary and liquid yeast works best when it remains cold until the day you brew.
