Tops For The Win Pale Ale - Partial Mash

A 40 IBU Partial Mash to celebrate hitting a double 20 on the dart board.  This American pale ale is pale amber in color and features Azacca and Simcoe hops.  Simcoe and Azacca provide west coast style citrus and grapefruit flavors combined with tropical fruit flavors.  Crystal 60L and Vienna malts provide a pleasant maltiness that contributes some light caramel and bready flavors.

Characteristics:

• 5.4% ABV
• Ingredients:
  • Grains: 2 Row Malt, Vienna Malt, and Crystal 60L Malt
  • Extract: Pilsen Light LME
  • Hops:  Simcoe and Azacca
• 40 IBU
• 8.8 SRM
  • Beer Color:
• 1.051 OG
• 1.010 FG

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags.  However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page. This recipe was designed using SafAle US-05 dry yeast.  Using an alternative yeast may result in slight variations in attenuation and final gravity.

Priming Sugar:  For priming sugar, we recommend the following:

• 5 oz Priming Sugar
• Carbonation Drops

Grain Bags:  If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:

• Large Muslin Bag (Single Use)
• Jumbo Nylon Straining Bag (Reusable)

Hop Straining Bags:  If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:
