SoCo Strong Winter Ale - Partial Mash

An 8.5% strong winter ale with rich malt, vanilla, and cinnamon flavors and aromas. Cinnamon sticks and natural vanilla flavoring give this beer strong vanilla and cinnamon flavors. This beer is a perfect choice on cold winter nights.

Characteristics:

• 8.5% ABV
• 32.8 IBU
• 20.4 SRM
• 1.086 OG
• 1.022 FG

Natural Flavoring Dosage:

• Use 2 ounces for light fruit flavor
• Use 3 ounces for medium fruit flavor
• Use 4 ounces for heavy fruit flavor

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags.  However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page.  These yeasts may have different levels of attenuation which may result in slight variations in the final gravity.

Yeast Pitch Rate:  We highly recommend preparing a yeast starter or using 2 packets of yeast for this recipe due to the high original gravity (OG) in order to keep the yeast happy and healthy.

Priming Sugar:  For priming sugar, we recommend the following:

• 5 oz Priming Sugar
• Carbonation Drops

Grain Bags:  If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:

• Large Muslin Bag (Single Use)
• Jumbo Nylon Straining Bag (Reusable)

Hop Straining Bags:  If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:

• Small Muslin Hop Boiling Bag (Single Use)
