SoCo Citra SMaSH IPA - Partial Mash

This Citra SMaSH (Single Malt, Single Hop) IPA showcases the citrus notes that you get with US Citra hops.  Citra hops have aromas and flavors of grapefruit, melon, lime, gooseberry, and passionfruit.  This recipe uses American 2 row malt which gives this beer a mild maltiness and contributes light straw color to wort.

• OG:  1.065
• FG:  1.018
• IBU:  57.7
• SRM:  4.1

This recipe kit DOES NOT  include yeast, priming sugar or grain bags.  However, we do give you yeast options at the top of the page.  These yeasts may have different levels of attenuation which may result in slight variations in the final gravity.

Yeast Pitch Rate:  We highly recommend preparing a yeast starter or using 2 packets of yeast for this recipe due to the high original gravity (OG) in order to keep the yeast happy and healthy.

Priming Sugar:  For priming sugar, we recommend the following:

• 5 oz Priming Sugar
• Carbonation Drops

Grain Bags:  If you need a grain bag, we recommend the following:

• Large Muslin Bag (Single Use)
• Jumbo Nylon Straining Bag (Reusable)

Hop Straining Bags:  If you need hop straining bags, we recommend the following:

• Small Muslin Hop Boiling Bag (Single Use)
• Fine Mesh Nylon Hop Bag With Drawstring (Reusable)
