Camlock Conversion Kit for Grainfather G30
This conversion kit allows you to convert your Grainfather G30 to accept camlock fittings.Â
Kit Components:
- Type D 1/2" Female Camlock with 1/2" FPT
- Large SS Hose Clamp
- Type E 1/2" Male Camlock with 1/2" Barb
- Stainless Steel Bushing - 1/2" BSP x 3/8" BSP
Optional Components (not included) for converting your Grainfather recirculation arm:
- Compression Fitting - 12.7 mm to 1/2" BSP
- Type A 1/2" Male Camlock with 1/2" Barb
- Large SS Hose Clamp
Steps for converting your Grainfather to Camlock fittings:
- Unscrew check valve component from the ball valve on the Grainfather's recirculation arm.Â
- Add teflon tape (not included) to the ball valve male threading and then screw on the 3/8" to 1/2" BSP Bushing to the Grainfather ball valve.
- Add teflon tape to the 1/2" BSP threading and then screw on the Type D Female Camlock to Female 1/2" MPT fitting. Now you can connect any 1/2" male camlock fitting.
Converting the Grainfather G30 counterflow chiller:
- Cut off the end of the silicone tubing that attaches to the black swivel female disconnect.Â
- Slip on a large hose clamp and then insert a Type E male camlock with 1/2" barb into the end of the silicone tubing. The silicone tubing will stretch over the barb and create a tight fit. Tighten the hose clamp.
Converting your Grainfather G30 recirculation arm
If you do not want to cut your Grainfather G30 recirculation arm with a hacksaw, then we recommend purchasing a Brewzilla Recirculation Arm that has a male camlock fitting already attached. If you want to use a hacksaw and cut something, then follow these steps to convert your Grainfather G30 recirculation arm to include a camlock fitting.
- Use a hacksaw to cut off the female swivel fitting on the end of the recirculation arm.
- File off the end to ensure that you are not sending little steel pieces into your next beer.
- Attach the optional compression fitting (listed at the top of this page - not included in this kit unless you choose the option above) to the sawed off end of the recirculation arm.
- Use teflon tape around the threaded end of the compression fitting and then screw on the Type A Camlock fitting onto the threaded end of the compression fitting. Â
