D-180 Belgian Candi Syrup (Extra Dark) - 1 LB
The darkest and richest Belgian candi syrup with an SRM of 180, it has no competitors for flavor, color or smooth fermentability. This candi syrup has notes of fresh ground coffee, wild cherry, dark stone fruit, caramel, with a hint of dark-toasted bread. An exceedingly superior syrup for dark, high gravity Belgian Ales, especially Westvleteren and Rochefort clones. Â
Candi syrups and sugars are often used in Belgian style beers to increase alcohol content and to add distinct colors and flavors. Brewers will often use 1 to 2 LB of candi sugars and syrups in 5 gallon batches of Belgian style beers.
